Ekari Hausi

Entry-level AI systems developer with an MEng in Computer Science and hands-on experience building production tools end to end — from retrieval-augmented LLM pipelines to backend infrastructure and security hardening. Currently IT Infrastructure Intern at the National Bank of Malawi, where I built the bank's in-house employee ID card system and automated new-workstation provisioning, replacing manual processes unchanged for 5–6 years. Independently designed and deployed Mthandizi, a WhatsApp-based disease-surveillance chatbot for Malawi's Ministry of Health, serving Health Surveillance Assistants across the country. Skilled in Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, Node.js, and PostgreSQL, with a focus on building AI systems that are reliable, secure, and actually used in production.

I have always been a natural athlete from a young age. During my younger years I took part in plenty of sporting activities including football, swimming, rugby, cricket and hockey. I represented my school in plenty of competitions and competed in national swimming competitions  for a number of years before stepping away.
