Accomplishments

  • Led the monitoring and evaluation of an Australian $ 2.3 million WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) program that supported the construction latrines in rural communities, providing clean water access to over 35,000 people and led to the attainment of open defecation free status for Mulanje District in Malawi.
  • Successfully oversaw the implementation of the 8-year Global Fund Adolescent Girls and Young Women Global Fund funded with annual operating budgets up to $10 million focused on delivery of evidence-based comprehensive package of the non-biomedical interventions for HIV prevention and support among adolescent girls and young women aged 10-24 in Malawi.
  • Led a team of 8 program coordinators in implementing a total of US$7 million grants around the areas of Sexual Reproductive Health, Inclusive Quality Education, Gender Transformative Child Protection and Disaster Risk Reduction with an aim of advocating for protection of children’s rights especially girls in Malawi.
  • Successfully mobilized over USD$4 million for Emergency Response for both Cyclone Idai and Tropical Cyclone Freddy in Southern Malawi
  • I have been part of the National Commission of Science and Technology (NCST) board of Directors and Chair of the Finance and Administration Committee subcommittee for three 3 years (Sept 2020-September 2023). Through the FiAC I successfully facilitated the hiring of the Director General for the Commission as well the the Director of Finance and Administration.
